Te Stolōwálá Lálèm

On-Reserve Elder and Family Housing for Ch’íyáqtel (Tzeachten) First Nation

Te Stolōwálá Lálèm means “Houses on the Riverbed”. This Ch’íyáqtel First Nation project provides 15 new homes across two buildings on-reserve for Elders and families, allowing nation members to return or remain home.

This affordable housing project started was completed in 14 months by our talented Project Team including Ch’íyáqtel First Nation, The Nerdy Architect, and Mierau Contractors.

Lu’ma Development Management oversaw the development management and construction claims management for the project including a successful submission to CMHC’s Rapid Housing Initiative in March 2023.

Storage, work spaces, and shared amenities help make this development livable and welcoming.

LOCATION: Ch'íyáqtel (Tzeachten) First Nation, located in the Upper Fraser Valley region near what is now known as Chilliwack, BC

STATUS: Completed and occupied in 2025
